Since the introduction of the first vacuum interrupter in 1962, Toshiba has been continuously improving and developing its vacuum interrupter technology. Over 185,000 Toshiba vacuum circuit breakers and over 2.7 million Toshiba vacuum interrupters have been installed and are providing reliable service in a wide variety of applications worldwide.
Toshiba offers a wide range of low and medium voltage vacuum contactors with advanced protection and control. Available in compact, electrically-maintained or latched-type designs, Toshiba’s vacuum contactors are used to efficiently protect and control motors, transformers, and breakers for many different applications.
Toshiba’s electronic relays provide motor overload and single phase protection, in addition to temperature monitoring and current sensing.
MV JK Starters
Toshiba’s JK Series starter has been expanded to meet our customers’ needs. The JK series is designed for use as a controller for transformers and capacitor switching, as well as an induction, wound rotor, and synchronous motor starter. This design can be configured as individual controllers/starters or in control center lineups with incoming disconnect switches or in conjunction (bussed) with our HVK switchgear.
MV JK Solid State Starters
Providing more sophisticated control, Toshiba’s solid state starters include many standard features that make it suitable for tough applications, including soft start control for smooth starting and reduced in-rush.
MV JK OEM Power Cells
Toshiba’s JK Series OEM Power Cells are designed to replace existing, outdated motor and small distribution feeder applications, or for new applications. The UL-listed OEM kit provides Toshiba’s state-of-the-art vacuum technology and includes Toshiba’s patented bolted pressure isolation switch. In addition, it offers the same safety features that are included in the JK Series medium voltage motor controllers.
Low Voltage Solid State Starters
Toshiba offers a wide range of low voltage solid state starters with advanced motor protection and control. If you’re having problems starting your motor across the line, solve your mechanical and electrical problems with a Toshiba soft start. Our products eliminate mechanical wear and damage from full voltage starting and reduce line disturbances and voltage drop caused by starting large loads.
Model RC820 – Solid State Motor
Toshiba’s RC820 solid state electronic relay combines reliable protection against overloads and single phasing with a simple, easily adjustable design. As a motor overload protection relay, the 2E is adjustable from Class 3 through Class 40 to provide optimum protection and accommodate reduced voltage starts and high inertia loads. Ground fault and phase reversal modules are available.
LV SSS TD SERIES
Toshiba’s TD low voltage solid state starters provide more sophisticated control and includes many standard features that make it suitable for tough applications. The compact TD is best for soft start control for smooth starting and reduced inrush.
LV SSS TX SERIES
The TX Series is a high-end, digitally programmable, reduced voltage solid state starter. This heavy-duty starter provides stepless soft starting of three-phase AC induction motors, which protects mechanical components from excessive torque stress as well as electrical systems from the effects of high motor inrush currents. The TX Series includes advanced motor and load protection features that rival expensive motor protection relays.
